Control Valves

Industrial control valves for process automation, globe, cage-guided, angle, butterfly, ball, and rotary control valves with pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuators for flow, pressure, temperature, and level control.

Overview

Control valves are the final control element in process control loops, continuously modulating flow to maintain setpoint for pressure, temperature, level, and flow rate. AQ Process Systems sources and exports a comprehensive range of control valves by AQ Process Systems for all process industries.

We offer globe-style (single-seat, double-seat, cage-guided, angle), rotary (butterfly, ball, eccentric plug), and specialty control valves with pneumatic diaphragm, pneumatic piston, electric, or electro-hydraulic actuators. Valve trim is selected for the specific application, noise, cavitation, flashing, and erosion considerations.

Our control valve packages include the valve body, actuator, positioner, and accessories (air filter/regulator, solenoid valve, limit switches, handwheel), delivered as a tested, calibrated assembly ready for installation.

ProductSpecificationDescription
Globe Control Valves
Single-Seat Globe Control Valves1", 16" | Class 150-2500 | Linear or equal-%Single-seated globe control valves, for precise throttling with tight shutoff (Class IV or V). The standard for most control applications.
Cage-Guided Control Valves1", 16" | Anti-noise, anti-cavitation trimCage-guided globe valves with characterised cage, providing noise reduction, anti-cavitation, and precise flow characterisation.
Angle Control Valves1", 12" | Self-draining | Erosive serviceAngle-body control valves for erosive, flashing, and slurry service, the 90° flow path reduces impingement erosion.
Rotary Control Valves
Butterfly Control Valves3", 72" | High Cv | Low pressure dropButterfly-style control valves for large flow, low-pressure-drop applications, high performance or triple offset types.
Ball Control Valves1", 12" | V-port or segmented ballV-port and segmented ball control valves for slurry, fibrous, and erosive throttling applications.
Eccentric Rotary Plug Valves1", 24" | Camflex-style | Noise attenuationEccentric rotary plug control valves combining high capacity with tight shutoff, for general process control and noise-sensitive applications.
Actuators & Accessories
Pneumatic ActuatorsDiaphragm or piston | Spring-return or double-actingPneumatic actuators, spring-and-diaphragm (fail-safe) or piston (high thrust) types for control valve automation.
Electric ActuatorsQuarter-turn or linear | Modulating or on/offElectric actuators for control valves, suitable where instrument air is unavailable or where precise digital positioning is required.
PositionersElectro-pneumatic | HART, Foundation FieldbusDigital valve positioners ensuring accurate valve positioning in response to control signals, with diagnostic capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Control Valves

What types of control valves do you supply?

+

We supply globe (single-seat, double-seat, cage-guided, angle), rotary (butterfly, ball, segmented ball, eccentric plug), and specialty control valves. Each type is suited to different applications, globe for precision control, rotary for high capacity and low pressure drop, and specialty for noise, cavitation, or erosive service.

What actuator types are available?

+

Pneumatic spring-and-diaphragm (most common, provides fail-safe action), pneumatic piston (high thrust), electric (where air is unavailable), and electro-hydraulic (for very high thrust requirements). We match the actuator to the valve sizing, process conditions, and fail-safe requirements.

How do you select the right control valve for my application?

+

Control valve selection considers: process conditions (fluid, temperature, pressure, flow range), required rangeability, noise limits, cavitation potential, shutoff class, and actuator fail-safe requirement. Provide us with your instrument data sheet (ISA form) or process parameters, and we will size and select the correct valve, trim, and actuator.

What is a cage-guided control valve?

+

A cage-guided valve uses a cylindrical cage around the plug that serves as both the plug guide and the flow characterisation element. Holes or slots in the cage determine the flow characteristic (linear, equal-percentage). Multi-stage cage trims reduce noise and cavitation by taking the pressure drop in multiple stages.

Do you supply control valve packages with positioner?

+

Yes. We supply complete control valve assemblies including body, actuator, positioner, and accessories (air set, solenoid, limit switches, handwheel). Packages are assembled, calibrated, and tested before shipment. Positioners are available in pneumatic, electro-pneumatic (4-20mA), HART, and Foundation Fieldbus configurations.
